I took this in late summer on an old digital camera that’s nothing super-special. I had a small garden patch again for the first time in years and planted big, vibrant tithonia in it. I was absolutely thrilled with their glowing presence. When big bees started visiting them, sleeping on them overnight in tender embrace, I was delighted. More than that, I started to feel my connection to nature and animals re-vivify, after several years of feeling apart from the world. This favorite picture conveys what I know of the connections, the beauty, the tenderness and the cycle of real life.
