These are the first and second versions of a cutting board design I’m developing and I’m pretty tickled! The one on the left (cherry and maple) is large and the handle is short grain, so it will prolly break pretty soon. But, I LOVE the idea and the shape, so I streamlined the design and the number of band saw cuts and came up with the second version (cherry and birch). It’s quicker and easier to make, so it’s something I can imagine as a moderately-priced “production” item, something we’re exploring in this summer’s course. To see more of this, and other woodwork of mine, go to 3D.
6/24/18: I will be shutting down Aleka Art Work in a few weeks. I have another site which will include many elements of AAW and will post that e-dress in the next few weeks.
